Black Friday is underway in Myrtle Beach with eager shoppers starting as early as midnight.
Although sales started sooner than usual this year, today remains the choice day for many to buy holiday gifts. Expect heightened traffic and crowds at area malls and big-box stores.

Open hours for major Myrtle Beach area retailers:
Coastal Grand mall | 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., with some stores opening earlier
Inlet Square mall | 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., with some stores opening earlier
Myrtle Beach Mall | 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., with Belk and J.C. Penney opening at 4 a.m.
Tanger Outlets on U.S. 501 and U.S. 17 | Midnight to 9 p.m.
