Mosquito battle is raging the Myrtle Beach area on

Heavy rain in late September and warmer that normal temperature caused a spike in mosquitoes, which retained employees Georgetown occupied to respond to complaints and Horry counties.

And with a warm, dry winter predicted by the weather makers, the issue may persist until first frost, which on average occurs in mid-November, on the large group.

In the meantime, crews are problematic spray and respond to calls from citizens on the problems of excessive mosquitoes.

"We get many complaints," said Lisa Bourcier, spokesman of the County of Horry. "Certainly, with hot, all weather rain, the number is square.?

Horry County officials have worked six days a week and of two or three aircraft evenings for Boucier County, air treatment.

Trucks, led by neighbourhoods spray also are sent nightly, according to Mincey Terrill with rain water Horry County Division.

Similar problems are reported in the County of Georgetown, as well.

"We've been spraying morning and evening and increased our air applications as well."

"We worked all weekend," said Ray Funnye, Director of the public service for Georgetown County.

"We know that the situation is particularly bad for this time of year .We use all our resources disponibles.Nous do all that we can currently."

His experience of 10 years, Funnye told he remembers mosquito problems which have been the bad in this time of year.

"We will continue our efforts until this thing disappears and nature takes care of it," said Funnye.

"The first Frost is a good indicator, but in the meantime, we will do all that we can make our comfortable citizens."

The average time to first Frost is the Myrtle Beach area 17 Nov.13 said Josh Weiss, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C.
